What is UAE CAA accreditation?

And why the badge on some Flint programmes matters.

The Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) is the federal body of the UAE Ministry of Education that licenses higher-education institutions and accredits their academic programmes. If a programme carries the CAA badge, its curriculum, faculty, facilities, and learning outcomes have been independently evaluated against the UAE’s national standards for higher education.

Why does it matter to you?

  • Your degree is recognised in the UAE. Employers, professional bodies, and government departments recognise CAA-accredited qualifications for hiring, licensing, and promotions.
  • Portability abroad. A CAA-accredited degree is far easier to get recognised by evaluation bodies in Canada, the US, the UK, Australia, and the EU when you continue your education or move for work.
  • Quality assurance. Accreditation means someone other than the university itself has verified the programme meets a published national standard — not just marketing.
  • Post-study work eligibility. Many UAE work-visa and Golden Visa routes require the qualifying degree to come from a CAA-licensed institution.

University vs. programme accreditation

A university being CAA-licensed does not automatically mean every one of its programmes is CAA-accredited. New programmes go through a separate accreditation review. That’s why we surface the badge at the programme level, not the university level.
