Entry requirements

Entry to the School of Engineering, Architecture, and Interior Design undergraduate programmes requires students to have attained the General Secondary School Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
The following criteria must be met for entry into the programmes: BS Aerospace Engineering, BS Civil Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, BS Biotechnology, Bachelor of Architecture, and Bachelor of Interior Design.
English Language Requirements:
Students from non-MoE curricula taught in English are exempt from providing English language proficiency evidence.
Students from non-MoE curricula taught in a language other than English must demonstrate proficiency through international standardised tests (IELTS 5 and above, or its established equivalent).
Students from the MoE curriculum must demonstrate proficiency through their high school English grades, which must not be less than 80%.
Conditional admission may be granted to students who do not achieve the required English proficiency scores, whether from non-MoE curricula taught in a language other than English or from the MoE curriculum.
The following requirements apply:
Non-MoE Curricula Taught in a Language Other Than English:
Students securing an IELTS score between 4.0 and 4.9, or its established equivalent, are permitted to register for the non-credit-bearing English remedial course along with two General Education courses.
These students must secure a minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in Semester 1; failure to do so will result in probation.
Students securing an IELTS score between 3.0 and 3.9, or its established equivalent, are permitted to register for the non-credit-bearing Intensive English course along with one General Education course.
These students must secure a minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in Semester 1; failure to do so will result in probation.
Students securing an IELTS score below 3.0, or its established equivalent, are permitted to register for the non-credit-bearing Intensive English course only.
MoE Curriculum:
Students with a high school English score ranging from 70% to 79% are permitted to register for 12 credits, encompassing credit-bearing courses and remedial courses.
These students must secure a CGPA of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 in Semester 1; failure to do so will result in probation.
Students with a high school English score ranging from 60% to 69% are permitted to register for the non-credit-bearing English remedial course along with two General Education courses.
These students must secure a minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in Semester 1; failure to do so will result in probation.
Students with a high school English score below 60% are permitted to register for the non-credit-bearing Intensive English course along with the General Education Arabic course.
Programme-Specific Requirements:
Cluster 3: Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Interior Design
High School Requirements:
Students must have achieved a 60% average in their Secondary School Certificate (Grade 12) under the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) curriculum, or its equivalent.
In addition to the minimum high school average, a design-based creative aptitude test is required for entry into the Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Interior Design programmes.
Conditional Admission:
Students with a high school average below 60% may be granted conditional admission.
Conditionally admitted students will be permitted to register for a maximum of 12 credits in Semester 1.
Students must achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 in the first semester.
Failure to meet this requirement will result in probation.
Hostel Fees:
Single Occupancy: 40,000 AED (Sep–Jun) | 20,000 AED (Feb–Jun)
Double Occupancy: 25,000 AED (Sep–Jun) | 12,500 AED (Feb–Jun)
